Join us as we celebrate Travels with Eleanor in Arthurdale by Linda Zimmer with illustrations by Jeanne Brenneman on November 29th from 3:30 to 5:00pm!
Often referred to as “Eleanor’s Little Village “Arthurdale, West Virginia was designed to relocate families from the coalfields to
homesteads in rural Preston County.
Championed by Eleanor Roosevelt, she remained involved in and devoted to the community for her entire life.
In Travels with Eleanor in Arthurdale, Fala, the little Scottie dog belonging to President Franklin and his wife Eleanor, stows away in Eleanor’s roadster and a grand backroads adventure begins.
Leaving the White House behind, following country roads, they arrive in a small village in West Virginia, filled with “love, laughter and happily ever after”
